Q:Do I have to be a member of a United Methodist church to live at OMM?
Oklahoma Methodist Manor is open to all faiths. Being a United Methodist does not provide an advantage of any type.
Q:Why should I move to a residential community like OMM? Why shouldn't I just stay in my own house until I can't?
There are several reasons to consider making the move while you are still independent.
- Moving when you are 62 or better, as opposed to when you are forced to for health reasons, allows you to make the choice as to where you want to live. You do not have to go someplace simply because it is the only place that has room for you at the time your health needs change.
- It provides peace-of-mind for you and for your family to know that you are living in a community where you can receive healthcare services if ever needed.
- You can take advantage of all of the amenities and event programming provided while you still have the good health to enjoy them.
- You will become a part of a community who will “be there” for you no matter what life events come your way.
- You will have Member priority access to Health Care if ever needed.
- If you wait until you need Assisted Living, it is highly unlikely you will be able to move to OMM. Most of the time, OMM is able to accommodate only Members moving from the on-campus residences to the Assisted Living or Health Care Center.

Q:What are the steps and fees involved in joining the community? |
The first step is to make a visit to the Marketing Office. After you’ve decided on a certain type of residence, you may place a reservation deposit fee to hold your residence. Upon moving in, you’ll pay the balance due of the Entrance-Membership fee.

Q:Is there an entrance/membership fee required at OMM?
Oklahoma Methodist Manor requires an Entrance-Membership Fee for the Villas, Patio Homes, CRESTWOOD and Lakeside Homes. Please contact the Marketing Office for details.
Q:As a member, am I guaranteed that health care will be available for me whenever I might need it?
It would be impossible for us to guarantee that such accommodations will be available the minute they are needed. However, our experience in dealing with various health issues for over 50 years makes it possible for us plan accordingly. In the unlikely event an appropriate accommodation is not readily available OMM staff will help the member secure any home health assistance needed until we can accommodate the need.
Q:Does OMM offer any type of urgent response system?
An urgent response system is included in the monthly service fee.
Q:Is dining included in the Monthly Service Fee?
Felt House Members and those who will live in CRESTWOOD residences will have a dining account that is a part of the monthly service fee. The other residences on campus have the option of purchasing a dining account.
