I have attended activities that are keeping us updated on the progress that is being made with CRESTWOOD. 	Jan Steffensen and her husband, Roger, have been Members of Oklahoma Methodist Manor since June. Roger has degrees from Oklahoma State University and Purdue University and is a retired petroleum engineer. Jan graduated from the University of Kansas and was an Occupational Therapist before retiring. She comments: View Testimonial “We’re United Methodists and that’s one reason we chose Oklahoma Methodist Manor. Also, this multi-level facility was something we can afford. We really enjoy the atmosphere. It has just a great feel to it. “We also enjoy several activities, among which are ones that enable us to have our voices heard, at Town Hall Meetings, where the executive director Steven Dickie speaks about what is going on and we have a chance to ask him questions, and at The Resident Chat, where Members get together and talk among ourselves without staff present. Our input is then reported back to the staff for their information and action. “I particularly enjoy the evening activities like the movies and musical events and occasional special dinners. Among the various programs are the Tulsa Community Band and excellent pianists and vocalists. Recently we were entertained by a Celtic harp and flute duo. I also really appreciate the beauty shop, where the operator has been at the Manor for nineteen years. She does a very good job and has reasonable prices. “Our first few months have been very enjoyable and we look forward to many years of contentment here at Methodist Manor.”

	Bud Langdon has been a Patio Home Member for 22 years now. Bud was in the United States Marine Band—also called The President’s Own. He met his wife in Washington, DC. She was in the WAVES in World War II; when she left the Navy, she worked for the schools in Arlington, Virginia, and later for Tulsa University. When Bud retired, he decided to open an electronic organ company/studio. The organ company said Tulsa was the best location and that’s how they ended- up here. View Testimonial “Oklahoma Methodist Manor is a fine place to live. The staff are top-notch people. The Members are fine people too. There are so many interesting activities to choose from, even beyond what our Activities Director organizes for us. I lead the exercise class three times a week. We go to musical programs and plays in Tulsa—we have season tickets. I partake in the Lunch Bunch—a group that goes out for lunch once a month to sample different restaurants; similarly, we have the Breakfast Group! We have a reader’s theater and we put on plays. We have performed them at different churches and also at OMM. Our dining staff organize a dinner for afterward. It’s a lot of fun. People really enjoy it! Last spring we did three plays and we had invitations to perform them at several different churches and Sunday school classes. “There is security in knowing that there is always the assurance that the Health Center is there if we need it; and when we recover, we can move back to our own residence.”

	Bob Smith and his wife moved to Tulsa from Bartlesville in 1957. All their children went to school there. He thinks that Tulsa has a lot of wonderful features and that no place is as convenient to live. Bob’s wife has since passed away. She was a rare, lovely person and the love of his life. Their three children live in Texas, Oklahoma and New Jersey. When he visits and enjoys his children and grandchildren, he is always ready to come back home before they get too tired of him. Bob worked in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science for eight different companies before he retired at 75. View Testimonial “I’ve been to Oklahoma Methodist Manor many times to visit as a volunteer. The staff and the people there are great. Just knowing OMM, the people there, and the location were the main factors in my decision to want to move there. I now have a three-story house and I can foresee difficulty in traversing the stairs in the future. I live in Mid-Town now and want to remain there. It’s convenient to my shopping. Also, the airport is 10 minutes away. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. That’s why I signed up for CRESTWOOD. It’s still reasonably priced compared to the other upscale places in Oklahoma. “The proposed CRESTWOOD’s Wellness Center is another factor too. I work out every day, so that will be very convenient for me. Also the dining account that will be provided is great, as I don’t know how to cook. “My wife and I graduated from high school in Kansas in 1949. I still meet with my friends from high school every year since friends are so important in my life, especially when you lose a spouse at my age. My nearby church also really supports and helps me. “Those are some of the reasons I am looking forward to moving to CRESTWOOD.”

Dr. Al and Jeri Brownlee: Dr. Brownlee was a children’s allergist before he retired. His wife was a teacher and also worked in his office. She helped put him through medical school with her teaching. They have been married for 56 years. Dr. Brownlee has volunteered at OMM among other retirement communities, so he has seen them all up close. He emphasizes the fact that OMM is not a nursing home, although it has all the facilities to provide health care services, if ever needed.
